‘Thanks Clare, but we can take it from here . . .’ the door slowly closes on me, the eager and supportive trainer, just wanting to reassure nervous trainees, left alone in the corridor, now redundant. These are the words from trainees assisting and calming their anxious colleague who is about to teach their language skills assignment (LSA) 4 externally assessed lesson on a DELTA Module 2 course. I was a little taken aback that I now seemed to be no longer needed to reassure the trainees in their time of need and last-minute panic before such an important assessed . . .
