A research study explores ELT practitioners’ uses of generative artificial intelligence (GenAI), how they feel about it, the challenges they face when using it and the training they have received.
Introduction
That GenAI is playing an increasingly active role in education, and in English language teaching in particular, is beyond the shadow of any doubt. However, its impact on teaching and learning and how best to maximise its potential, remain a topic of heated debate.
This article synthesises the key findings of my research, addresses common concerns and opportunities, and highlights areas where further research would be invaluable.
