Principled digitisation

Coursebooks have long been a cornerstone of ELT – whether we love them or not. They offer structure, a clear progression and a reliable safety net, especially for less experienced teachers. To keep up with the times, many publishers have added videos and digital presentation tools. But in an online setting, what I’ve found is that these adaptations often feel little more than a digital replica of a traditional face-to-face lesson rather than something truly designed for the online-learning experience.

With that in mind, I wanted to rethink how course materials could be digitised – not by haphazardly . . .
