Danny Norrington-Davies’ new book, Teaching Grammar: From Rules to Reasons, provides teachers with an alternative approach to teaching grammar. This way of teaching considers how people actually use grammar, and how learners can be helped to understand what the speaker means. In short, it focuses on the use of grammar, rather than a rigid set of rules. We asked Danny to tell us about the benefits of this approach.
