Career circles from teaching to materials writing

I’m often asked by English language teachers, ‘How can I become a materials writer?’. One response to this question is to say, ‘well if you’re teaching, then you are already writing materials’. After all, materials writing is one key skill that all teachers need to develop in their career. However, this is not a satisfactory response for most people. Perhaps what they mean is, ‘How can I earn money from materials writing?’ or ‘How can I write full time?’

The thing to note here is that the trajectory from teaching into materials writing isn’t really a straight . . .
